Top Tab Activation and deactivation

Hi, currently I’ve embedded the calendar into website http:// www.lockportmainstreet. org
I used the actual calendar instead of the embedded view’s options because it looks nicer, and more professional on the site. (The embedded calendar needs more user defined options for implementation into websites.)

As this is used for a public events Calendar for a city organization, I was hoping for a few options that appear to be currently unsupported at this time.

A couple requests I have, for possible future implementation:

  1. Activation/deactivation of the top tabs – As you can see on the site… there’s little use (aside from what I’ve inferred upon them) of the “to-do”, and “files” tabs. There’s no way of deactivating these from public viewing, for which the majority of people will come to the site and see. The files tab is ok, as people can download flyers, but the “to-do” tab in public view is difficult to justify.

As this is a community organization some neat things I’d like to see included would be:

  1. a photo section for organizations
  2. a summary view panel like the Familys Calendars’ main view panel – listing upcoming events, blog roll, and a short summary of public accessible material. comments, calendar ect.
  3. AN ADDRESS BOOK! What better way for people to stay informed than to allow the webmaster and admin keep an address book that they can notify/send message of event changes, or general event news to people. (E-mails would no doubt be branded through Famundo’s site when mailed, thus you get added benefits of direct e-mail marketing to potential costumers for new accounts by allowing organizations to email address book contacts…)
  4. Four levels of privacy – Webmaster, admin, staff, public. Webmaster being the highest all access. Admin – main coordinator, or director. Staff – limited access, some user options. Public – no modifications. This way I can maintain site controls as webmaster, but allow the director of the organization maintain and delegate controls to lower staff. Public remains as is, Public no user mods.

I’m sure I’ll have more suggestions, this is just the first day of use and implementation. So far I love it, and it’s better than anything else I’ve come across aside from spending weeks coding my own.

I’d love to test out any new features in the works, or provide more feedback in design.
Please contact me!

Cheers,
Webmaster H.Grimmer
