Draggable/Repeatable event

Avatar Jason 3 post(s)

My work schedule varies each month, but is always the same time & place. It would be nice to have an event set up with the time, location, etc., pre-set, which I can drag and drop to different days. Or have the ability when creating an event to select individual days on which the event occurs via a pop up calendar or delimited Natural Language (“23rd@7, 24th@7, 27th@7”). This is different from the recurring event you have set up. For example, one week I may work Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun, then the next week Wed, Fri, the some other day the next week, but all have the exact same times and locations, etc. There is no easy way to schedule this except by copying which reloads the calendar each time and takes forever. Thanks!

Hi,

If I understand your request correctly you can actually do this pretty easy today in the week view.
You can schedule weekly, every Mo, Tu, Sat, Su for the amount of time you want..Then go to each week and either remove or drag from one day to another (depends on the case). Dragging for recurrent activities is implemented on the day and week view for now.

Having a natural language capability in the recurrence area is something we can consider for a future release.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Right, so that still requires you to confirm each deletion and then another calendar reload. Still very tedious. Plus the more events you schedule, the slower the reload, so for one month I’d initially have events every day then have to confirm and reload for four days every week (I only work three days a week, which could be any three days). It would actually be faster to copy three days per week than do that, I think. But thanks for the idea!

Oh, wait. If I create three to repeat weekly I could just move them over. Sometimes, though, I will have more than three, in which case the deleting will be the time consumer. So keep it on the list for the next release!

Hi,

Yeah, if you do this in the week view you won’t see the page reloads…You can start with 4 days in each week and remove one when it’s needed or another way create 3 days in each week and when you have a 4th instance just copy one of them.
