Calendar Sharing

Avatar Jecar 11 post(s)

My friend and I have each created an account. We are trying to figure out how we can see one another’s calendars. Do we have to go to the public page or can we somehow subscribe to each other’s calendars?

Hi,

First of all your calendar needs to be shared (you can find details here http://help.famundo.com/help/items/sharing ).
After that you need to navigate to the public calendar page of each other and click on ‘Subscribe to these calendars’ link. It will walk you through the process.

Hi, this still isn’t working. Our calendars are not public, but are set to “friends and family only”, so when I go to her public calendar page, there is nothing. And when I click on ‘subscribe’ in only brings up my own, not hers. She can see mine because I hadn’t changed my privacy setting prior to importing my calendar, so all my events defaulted to public.

Which brings up another point. I changed the default to “Friends and Family”, it didn’t change any of the events that were already imported, so my entire calendar is still public, except for the events I’ve changed manually. Do I have to do this for every event or is there a way to change all of them to “Friends and Family”. And when I do, will my friend still see my calendar?

Hi,

When you browse to one’s site you can see only the public calendars. We’re adding functionality were you’ll be able to subscribe to a friend’s calendar from inside your Famundo account. If I understand correctly this is what you’re looking for. It will come soon.

Regarding the second point, changing the default to ‘Friends and Family’ will have effect only on any NEW items you enter in Famundo. If you want to have your events hidden from the public the easiest way is to change the calendar sharing level (from the that calendar properties ..more details about how to edit a calendar you can find here http://help.famundo.com/help/items/sharing ).

I have changed my calendar settings as you described, long ago. But when I go to the individual entries that were alread imported, they still say they are public and are still visible.

Hi,

I see what you mean now, I was able to duplicate it with my account. It’s a display issue there.
Those events won’t be visible to the public actually, as the calendar setting (that you set to ‘Family & Friends) won’t allow any event linked to it to be displayed in public mode. The icon that you probably look at is not getting updated though and is displayed based on the old security setting (the one from the actual event).
We’ll have a fix for this soon.

Thanks for catching this.

Any idea when this might be coming out? My neighbor and I would really like this feature because we are often trying to carpool or watch each other’s kids and it would be helpful to be able to see one another’s calendars.
