Calendar Categories

Is it possible to have events listed by the type, rather than the person? For example, I’d like Birthday entires to be a different color than our “Family” category. I tried making a separate calendar category “Birthday” but I can’t figure out how to adjust current entries to this new category. Do I need to make a separate Birthday calendar and then merge them?

Did you know that is you add a contact to the Address Book, their birthday will automatically appear in the calendar on the top row and also on the home page as an upcoming occasion?

Otherwise, you can add a new calendar and call it “Birthdays”. assign it a color of your choice, and schedule birthdays on it.

Let me know if this works for you.

Well, the birthdays imported automatically from my Outlook calendar but not from my contacts.

One problem I run into though is that my address book may have multiple people for one entry, but there is only one birthday allowed per address entry. I don’t keep separate entries for married couples, for example. Being able to put everyone in the family’s birthdays would be really helpful.

ETA: I’ve tried making a new calendar titled Birthdays and every time I change it’s color, it changes back to the same color as Family, even after I hit the save button. I’ve cleared my internet cache several times to see if that is it, but it’s still doing it.

If the birthday calendar is set to “Belong to” “Family”, it will appear in the Family color when looking at the Family calendar.

One option you can do is add a new Family Member and name it Birthdays.

Regarding the birthdays not importing, we will look into that. Also, I understand your point about multiple family members in one record, since that is the way I do it personally. We are going to be going over the Address Book in the next few months, so please let us know what suggestions you might have.
