Recurring Calendar Items

Avatar kcr_nj 2 post(s)

Hi – I am a new user and I like a lot of what I am seeing but I did run into a couple of issues with recurring calendar events.
First – I uploaded a CSV file from yahoo. Everything came in, except that anything that I had recurring in yahoo came in as individual events in famundo. Therefore, I have many events that I need to stop but I don’t see a way to delete future items. For example, a dance class that is every week until June is showing up every week from now until the end of time but since it is not coded as recurring I have to go into each one to delete. Is there a way to mass delete future events?
Second – at least for yearly recurring items (birthday) – I didn’t notice until I had already done several that the day copies from above, however, the month defaults to January. So, I had a April 28th birthday that says to repeat yearly but since I didn’t catch it, it says to repeat on January 28th. The problem is, once you save that change, the event disappears completely (it isn’t in April or January of the current or following year). I would like to be able to edit to get it back but I can’t find it…
Any help you can give would be appreciate.

Hi,

The problem with the import that you described (that is bringing individual events for each occurence of your recurrent events) is that in the csv file there is an event for each occurrence of your recurrent event. It’s a drawback of using such a weak format like CSV. A better and more powerful way to transfer events is to use the iCalendar format. I don’t know if Yahoo supports ics exports though.
We don’t support yet mass deletion of events from our interface. If you would like to do that we can run some scripts on your account that we’ll clean this up.
Regarding the second issue. I did some tests and indeed something is weird. I’ll get back to you soon with a solution.

My account is kcds08. Basically, anything 2009 and beyond that is NOT a recurring event can be deleted. I think I manually took care of 2008.
Thanks,
Kim
